Supported CSV File Format
RFIDLinked supports CSV files with the following characteristics:
- Must be a CSV file using UTF-8 character encoding.
- The first row of the CSV is considered a "header row." It will be used to help you map the columns in the CSV to your search criteria. It will NOT be imported.
- The CSV file must contain at least 2 rows: a header row and at least one row of data.
- Duplicate values will be skipped.
- Optional - If your CSV file contains a single row then no mapping will be required, speeding up the import process. If your CSV contains multiple columns you will be required to map/select the correct column to import.
Setup: CSV Upload
Using the CSV Upload setup method will allow you to quickly upload a CSV file containing either EPC (Hex) or TagId values to search for.
From the Home menu, tap RFID AUDIT and then TAG FINDER. From the "How Do You Want To Search? " list, tap the CSV Upload option to launch the Bulk Upload Tag Finder Setup process.
Selecting your CSV File
Select which field to search using by tapping on either EPC (HEX) or TAGID.
Tap the Select File button and Android will present to you a file chooser. Navigate your files and select the CSV file you want to import. RFIDLinked will then scan your selected file and verify it meets the minimum requirements for import. If no issues are found, tap the Next button.
Mapping your CSV Column to Selected Search Field (Optional Step)
NOTE: If you've uploaded a CSV only containing a single column than this step will be omitted and skipped.
The next step is to select which column of your CSV maps to your selected Search Criteria. You will be be shown a
list of columns from your CSV file, along with the first 5 rows of data
for that column. By tapping the arrow buttons you can scroll through
the columns until you find which column matches the field selected.
Then tap the SELECT COLUMN button to assign it.
Reviewing Any Problems Detected (Optional Step)
NOTE: If no problems are detected, then this step will be skipped and not displayed.
After select your column, RFIDLinked will pre-process your file
and detect any problems. If issues are found they will be displayed for you to review.
Errors generally mean that there is a problem that cannot be
automatically resolved with the row being imported. Examples of these
could be:
- Duplicated Value - The provided value appears multiple times in your CSV. Only the first value will be imported, the remaining duplicates will be ignored.
-
Value contains non-hex character(s) - EPC and TagIds must be provided using HEX characters (A-F, 0-9). Any values containing non-valid hex characters will be ignored.
Please review any issues detected. If there are issues that need
to be fixed before proceeding, please adjust your original CSV file and
restart the process.
Confirmation and Review
RFIDLinked will process your import and report how many entries were loaded. Tap the Start Locating button to launch the Tag Finder interface and begin searching.
