Overview of Users and User Groups in RFIDLinked
RFIDLinked employs an out of the box user management system that utilizes user groups to define access levels and permissions. This ensures that each user has the appropriate level of access for their role within your organization. By default, there are two predefined user groups: Admin and User.
Admin User Group
Users assigned to the Admin group have the highest level of access within the application. Along with being able to access all of the standard product features in RFIDLinked, these users can additionally perform Account Administrative tasks, including:
- Managing account-level settings and configurations.
- Billing and Subscription Management.
- Adding, editing, or removing other users.
- Modifying user groups.
- Setting up and managing connectors to third-party services.
Admins are typically responsible for managing the application setup and ensuring that users have the necessary access to perform their roles effectively.
Standard User Group
Users assigned to the User group have access to the application’s Standard Product Features but are restricted from performing Administrative Tasks. This means they can:

All RFID Tag Scanning functions (Open Scan, Tag Locator, etc...)
All Printing functions (Retail tag printing and EZ Tag printing)
- Perform imports and exports.
- Managing account-level settings and configurations.
- Billing and Subscription Management.
- Add, edit, or remove users.
- Setup or managing connectors to third-party services.
This group is ideal for users whose primary focus is on utilizing the application’s core functionalities without needing administrative privileges.
Managing Users
Admins can manage users and user groups through the User Management section in the application. This includes:
Adding new users and assigning them to the appropriate user group.
Removing users who no longer require access.
Best Practices
Assign Admin roles sparingly to ensure that only trusted personnel have access to administrative features.
Use the User group for most team members to maintain a secure and streamlined user environment.
