Scan Match: Verifying Inventory

Scan Match is designed to streamline inventory verification. It allows users to perform regular inventory checks against a list of tags (file) generated within RFIDLinked, or import your own list to scan and match against to verify the accuracy of inventory counts or shipping/packing manifests.  RFIDLinked will maintain a detailed history of each scan match session, allowing for reporting and auditing tracked over time.

Some key use cases include:

  • Routine Inventory Checks: Use Scan Match to compare your current inventory against a pre-existing list of tags, and have it tracked over time.
  • Cycle Counts: Ideal for frequent inventory validation.
  • Asset Tracking: Track and verify critical assets to ensure they are accounted for.

What You Need To Get Started

Scan Match sessions are stored along side each File within RFIDLinked.  You'll first need to create or import a file into RFIDLinked.  If you don't already have a file, see the following articles first:

Starting a Scan Match Session

Choose RFID AUDIT from the home screen, and then SCAN MATCH from the sub menu.

Choose from files that are on the device locally that were created by RFIDLinked on the device, Import a file from an outside source, or choose a file that is located inside of the RFIDLinked Cloud (Business subscription required) to open the file details.  Files that were created on the device by RFIDLinked and stored locally, and any previously synced cloud files will automatically appear in the Select a File screen.

Verify that all of the file details match the file you want to validate against and then choose SELECT THIS FILE to open the list of tags to verify.

Choose the Settings icon in the top right corner to adjust the RFID power level, or change the configured Display Template.

Set the POWER LEVEL to 30 to scan with the widest range and the highest power mode.

Set the TAG FILTER to All Tags.
* - You are matching from a list so any tag details/specifics are already applied.

Choose the DISPLAY TEMPLATE you would like to apply.
* - Learn more about Display Templates here.

Choose Save to return to the scanning screen and begin matching tags.

Once the applied filter is correct, pull the handle trigger, one of the two orange side buttons or push the onscreen green SCAN button to start matching tags.

As tags are matched the question mark to the right of the tag will turn to a green check mark and the FOUND COUNT total will increase at the same rate the MISSING COUNT total will decrease.

Once all tags have been matched you will hear an audible success sound and receive an ALL TAGS MATCHED screen.

Choose Save to update the existing file with your Scan Match information.

You will receive a confirmation screen and then be returned to the Scan Match screen.

You can choose the Refresh button in the top left to start and match the same file again or you can hit the Back arrow to return to the main screen.
